Current Lines of Research
We are working on several aspects of prediction of protein structure & function employing what is generally termed, depending on the context, bioinformatics or computational biology.
Our aim is to integrate the development of novel methods and their application to biologically relevant problems. In particular, the main lines of research include:
In order to evaluate the performance of our tools, we have participated in the CASP (Critical Assessment of Techniques for Protein Structure Prediction) series of experiments. In particular, our group has been participating since CASP-4 (2000) with good results in all major categories.
More recently (since 2011), we have been also participating in the CAGI (Critical Assessment of Genome Interpretation) series of experiments with good results for the prediction of disease phenotypes from genome-scale sequencing data.
